Canvas Records & Spotify: Where Music Met Mixology
During Austin City Limits, Spotify and FIG Creative Agency set out to celebrate a new way for artists to express themselves through music. Spotify created and wanted to showcase the power of the 3 to 8 second looping visuals that bring music to life. To make that vision real, The Mill partnered with Plaid Pony Productions to craft an immersive, one-day experience like no other by creating the pop up shop for Canvas Records.
















Working with over 100 artists, Canvas Records reimagined the classic record store as a living gallery of music and motion. But the experience didn’t stop there, as Plaid Pony was called into find the perfect location and transform it into a one-of-a-kind bar and listening lounge.
From the ground up, the ponies built a custom pop-up experience featuring a fully realized bar and intimate listening stages. Each guest chose a track, and in real time, one of our flair bartenders and expert mixologists crafted a drink that matched the vibe of the music. The result was pure sensory magic with a combination of sound, motion, and flavor blending into a single unforgettable moment.
Plaid Pony trained and staffed the entire event, bringing together a team of brand ambassadors, bartenders, catering crew, and production staff to make the experience seamless for the VIP guests. We also sourced and managed all beverage partners, including Bev, Austin Beer Works, Deep Eddy Vodka, Lunazul Blanco, Elijah Craig, and Richard’s Rainwater ….each handpicked to elevate the experience.
The collaboration with Spotify, FIG, and The Mill transformed a digital innovation into a real-world celebration. The Ponies produced a space where people could see, hear, and even taste the power of creative expression.
