Dell EMC Brand Direct approached us with a massive, high-concept ask. They needed a campaign that made cutting-edge data technology look sleek, human, and insanely cinematic. They needed the ponies to track down a state-of-the-art robotics company to showcase innovation in action, plus downtown streets and active high-tech construction sites to tell the ultimate EMC technology story against a sophisticated urban backdrop. DELL needed world-class visuals without a crushing budget or an insanely long timeline.
Stacy Scarsella, our powerhouse EP, was not just keeping an eye on the creative—she had also been tracking global tax trends, exchange rates, and financial shifts. While everyone else was looking at standard, overpriced backdrops, Stacy looked north. Stacy knew that shifting the entire production to Canada would unlock 30% savings in production costs for Dell EMC.
But saving cash doesn't mean sacrificing the art. Like true production professionals, the team got creative, executing a flawless strategy to keep the magic going. Stacy immediately cut through the red tape, working with Canadian authorities to secure work visas for the Photographer and key Ponies. She phoned a friend, partnering with a trusted colleague in Canada to source the absolute best local crew to handle the rest of the production, providing valuable jobs to a talented Canadian team.
Managing multiple moving parts across borders meant carefully coordinating shot lists, tech setups, talent, and locations... all the pieces coming together seamlessly without sacrificing a single second of time or an ounce of budget for this exciting project.
This wild ride wasn’t just a shoot… it was a reminder that with teamwork, creativity, and a little global grit, you can turn any logistical challenge into a total masterpiece.
